Trailing clouds of glory do we come from God!

In the unfathomable millennia of existence prior to this life, we as God the Fathers spirit children, were propelled by Christs example, and our own individual nature on courses which were as varied as the billions there were of us, exercising our agency to pursue personal interests and growth at a pace limited only by our own desires, to excel in passions of our own choosing, some to the spiritual, some to stagnation and even to open rebellion. Yet those spiritually driven, the obedient to Gods counsel, to lives Celestial, foreordained by faith and great works to be joint heirs with Christ and His perfect example.

Much of our place here on earth and potential in the eternities to come, was established as a result of our works in our pre earth estates.

The valiant to Gods counsel come to this world as recipients of blessings received as a result of faith and righteousness there. Not of wealth, power or fame, but the opportunity, the blessing of the Lord, his gospel and priesthood in their life here; foreordained to continue their works from before the foundation of this world in achieving Life Eternal, a life like that of The Father.

“Ode to Immortality”

“Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting; The soul that rises with us, our life’s Star, Hath had elsewhere its setting And cometh from afar; Not in entire forgetfulness, And not in utter nakedness, But trailing clouds of glory do we come From God, who is our home:

“William Wordsworth”

We come here to this world and have tested the true desires of our heart. Away from the sight of God to choose, darkness or light, the worldly or the spiritual, selfishness or love. To follow Satan’s enticing’s, or the whisperings of the spirit of God while dwelling here in this probationary estate.

Our true desires on display and on record, in this ultimate test, a culmination of countless works of past eternities, with weaknesses magnified and multiplied by bodies of flesh and no memory of our preexistent lives or glory, here to establish our place in the future eternities, of which we were foreordained to receive, if we will, all that God has to offer.

Volumes have been written on life after death and the eternities to come; however we must pause and consider our past, and its eternities, to rediscover, consider and understand who we really are, where we came from, and how this knowledge can empower us, and does affect why we’re here. In doing so help us accomplish what we came here to do; better see our eternal roots, and how our past affects our life here on earth, to understand our Devine heritage and past associations with Deity. Providing us with a stronger and more personal connection to our Father in Heaven, enhancing our Devine self-worth in our daily life struggles and efforts to gain more in our relationship to God our Eternal Father and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, the Redeemer and Savior of mankind.

Our lives pass away like as it were unto us, a dream, we being a lonesome and solemn people, wanders in a strange land, castaways from our God, our Lord, our home, sent to prove ourselves worthy of his offering of Life Eternal.

Wherefore beloved brethren, be reconciled unto him through the atonement of Christ.

Unto you that are pure in heart, look to God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in your afflictions, and he will plead your cause. Lift up your heads, and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon His love.

His work and glory, is providing for our salvation and eternal progress, His loving conviction is to place before us the opportunity to advance in nature. Godly concern for his children, and all his creations, as a perfected being whose work and glory is our advancement. He has committed all, including the condescension of Christ that we may return to him with clean hands and clean garments, having overcome this world, to return to him with limitless potential, and in loving harmony, to his abode, and the mansions he has prepared for us.

The following is from a lecture series by Denver Snuffer, lecture 5.

There is within the structure of the afterlife, different rungs on Jacob’s ladder, and they leak through in our scriptures, though Joseph never bothers parsing them. And whether you are talking about an angel, or an archangel, or a principality, or a power, or a dominion, or a throne, or a cherubim, or a Seraphim, it doesn’t matter which one you are referring to, it is appropriate, just like it is appropriate to refer to all those offices as Elder, to refer to any and all of them as “powers.”

“I want to be clear about this. I am not talking about the kind of hierarchy we see among the gentiles in the gentile Church. We do not see people who love to control and compel others rising on Jacob’s ladder. It cannot be scaled that way. This is talking about developmental stages of growth. Each is moving toward perfection. To be higher in your progression is to be more near to and therefore more like God. We err when we think of this as a dominion in which ranking gives any right to abuse those who are lower in station or degree. The only continuing tools used throughout this progression are persuasion, love, meekness and pure knowledge. This is why so few who are in a position of being “called” in this life are ever “chosen” in the next. (D&C 121: 34.) They simply do not learn how these rights are inseparably connected with the same Spirit as our Lord and His Father. They never obtain the “mind of God” or Holy Spirit, or associate themselves with the third member of the Godhead.”

“I want to turn to Doctrine and Covenants section 132:19, because in here we then run into a brief description of some of the Powers who exist behind the veil. It is about in the middle of that verse where it mentions those who will come forth in the first resurrection to inherit, and here are the words. “thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depths—” Those words are referring to, different steps in the process of rising up to the place where God occupies. This is telling you something about the map to the afterlife. This is telling you something about, how there is a ladder to be scaled there as you move toward the Throne of the Father.”

“You must proceed, as Joseph Smith put it: from one step to the next. When you begin to climb a ladder, you always begin at the bottom, and you go step-by-step until you reach the top. This fallen world is the bottom of that process. The challenge here is to get the opportunity to continue to develop hereafter.”

“These conditions are developed by degrees. They are not achieved in a single step. But when they are achieved, they are done by obedience to the laws upon which such blessings are predicated. If you want to see what a Being acts like who has risen to the point they are moving onto the Throne of the Father, then you have Jesus Christ as your model. He is, according to the Lectures on Faith, the “prototype of the saved man.” And, as I explained in an earlier talk, He represents what you must be like in order to be saved. You must be “precisely” as He is, and nothing different. Therefore when you consider these developmental stages through which all must pass, you should not look at this as a model for an afterlife church akin to what we suffer under here in mortality. There will be no proud gentiles there bossing one another around. Rather it will be knowledge which will exalt you there. It will be light and truth, or in other words the glory of God which will exalt you. Therefore you progress always, eternally, according to the grace within you.” (Denver Snuffer Lecture 5 Pages 11- 13 of 46)   http://denversnuffer.com/40-years-in-mormonism-lecture-series/

God is “love” and love drives His work and glory, he guides us along, through the whisperings of the Holy Spirit, to follow Christ, to become joint heirs with Him; and return home as victors, to receive true love, fullness of joy, and continue our existence of growth and increase, which is Life Eternal.

His passion, His energy, His work, is for His children, driven by His love for us, and His glory is to share all he has, to help us fill the full measure of our creation, in the most noble of any Godly pursuit imaginable, to give his children, the opportunity to become like Him!

FOR THIS IS MY WORK AND MY GLORY TO BRING TO PASS THE IMMORTALITY AND ETERNAL LIFE OF MAN

(Moses 1:39)

And when I go to the place of my rest, which is with Christ my Redeemer; for I know that in Him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before Him; I shall see His face with pleasure, and He will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father.
