A PARADIGM SHIFT.

Last year the Lord brought things to my mind in a way that was unmistakably from Him and that He wanted “me to know” and share, which I did.

I guess at some point “talk” becomes, an act, instead of the action the Lord requires. Endless study isn’t enough either without acting on the teaching and knowledge received. Without sacrifice and action in living Christs teachings there can be no faith developed, no gifts of the spirit magnified, no further light and knowledge given. He is our prototype!

Every time I think I’ve “got it “I soon find that I’m not even close, closer, but still with far to go.

So it is with living the sermon at Bountiful and the Mount.

TOTALLY living those teachings, that way of life, requires a complete paradigm shift, turning your way of life inside out, completely letting go of your personal desires and doing as the Lord did, sacrificing your life for Him, as He did for His father. That’s about as foreign as anything could be for any person living in ANY day or age.

I guess that’s why so few have succeeded in living a selfless life and therefore why so few have pierced the veil and conversed with the Lord. But living these commandments is the only way to gain the light and truth we must seek, there is no other way, talking and study alone is not enough!

“That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.” (D&C 50:24)

The Lords ministry continues, He is currently active in working with those who reach out to Him.

He will start with us wherever He finds us, and will begin the work of getting us to where He wants us, and to be the best “us” we can be in this life until the perfect day and we see His face and know Him.

“Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am;” (D&C 93:1)

But before that, we must begin in earnest the process of becoming like Him, and that requires doing as He did. Until we are doing that, the greater parts of the further light and knowledge we seek by conversing with the Lord through the veil are out of reach!

“I give unto you these sayings that you may understand and know how to worship, and know what you worship, that you may come unto the Father in my name, and in due time receive of his fulness. For if you keep my commandments you shall receive of his fulness, and be glorified in me as I am in the Father; therefore, I say unto you, you shall receive grace for grace.” (D&C 93;19, 20)

And Satan is very aware of our need for living these truths and is actively engaged in his deceptions regarding them; because by living them we gain light and truth and become more like the Son of God.

“And that wicked one cometh and taketh away light and truth, through disobedience, from the children of men, and because of the tradition of their fathers.” (D&C 93:39)

These teachings, or way of life taught by the Lord at the Sermon on the Mount and at Bountiful are not just some cute sayings or something for another day or place as the traditions of our fathers have taught us; it was meant for us to live, in the here and the now.

As I stated in my November post, it’s just time to act, enough for now has been said, it’s time for “me” to live Christs teachings as He taught in the Sermon on the Mount and at Bountiful. To try with full purpose of heart, to be as faithful to Him, as He was to His father.

“¶And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” {Luke 6:46)
